COMMANDERY WORCESTER AND THE RE-ENACTORS RE-LIVING HISTORY!

2,000 years of history were celebrated at the #Commandery Worcester in February 2016.

There were lots of #re-enactors bringing history to life including Roman, Tudor and

WWII  costumed actors, and (pictured below) a despatch rider.
Stunning costumes and a great #multiperiodevent!

VINTAGE VEHICLES, RE-ENACTORS AND THE UK VINTAGE EVENTS!

There's always an opportunity to get some great photos at the vintage events!  Often, the re-enactors bring their own vehicles, or have pictures taken beside them, to set the scene and transport us back in time.

Whether it's a journey back to the Home Front and 1940's Britain, (pictures of re-enactors, above and below, at Black Country Museum 1940s event 2015)

or the dazzling and daring 1930's, (pictured below 1930s re-enactor at Hartlebury Castle Fashion Through The Ages event)

it's not just a photo opportunity, it's also the chance to get together and have a great day! And of course the 1940s events also keep our history alive and help us to remember the sacrifices made during WWII.

#HARTLEBURY CASTLE and FASHION THROUGH THE AGES 2015

Fashion Through The Ages at Hartlebury Castle brought it's visitors a day of classic cars and #vintage nostalgia.

The history of this mid thirteenth century castle was also revisited as Queen Charlotte was present (pictured below) in the saloon, with a WWII re-enactor.

Hartlebury Castle's journey through time also included a glitzy and glamorous display of #1930'sFashion.

A great event with historical costumes, time themed re-enactors and plenty of vintage shopping!

The MEDIEVAL RE-ENACTORS AND THE BATTLE OF EVESHAM 2015!

Celebrating the 750th anniversary of this historic event, the Battle of Evesham re-created the sights and sounds of the battle between Simon de Montfort and Prince Edward.

The place was Crown and Corporation Meadows, #Evesham where the past was brought back to life with spectacular costumes, scenes of conflict and there was also lots of mid thirteenth

century entertainment, displays and traders selling their wares!
There was even an apothecary demonstrating and "selling" her potions and herbal medicines.

An interesting and entertaining #medieval event!

THE VICTORIAN RE-ENACTOR IN WALSALL!

The Victorian Era is always an interesting and popular subject for the re-enactors!
Spotted (below) on a gloomy weekday in August,  in Walsall in the West Midlands,

a Victorian actor with top hat, long jacket, waxed moustache on a penny farthing bicycle!

This wasn't an event and there wasn't any advertising, so I'm guessing this was just a re-enactor deciding to entertain us all.... and then he disappeared into the Victorian Arcade... where else!
